A Privilege to Pray

When my husband and I were visiting a church in our neighborhood several weeks ago, the pastor made the comment that it’s a privilege to pray, and that praying for ourselves is not being selfish. While it’s good to pray for others, each of us has special needs, and God wants us to bring our needs, as well as our wants, to Him.

In I Thessalonians 5:17 we are told to pray without ceasing. Although some of our prayers might not be answered exactly the way we would like, God answers every prayer according to His will. We should never quit praying, because there is power in prayer, and each time we pray, our faith will be strengthened.

Isn’t it great to know that we can call on God any time, day or night? He’s always waiting to hear from us, and He will answer our prayers in His own perfect timing, according to His will.

Heavenly Father: When I pray, help me remember to thank You in advance for all that You do. Amen.

  1. Thank you so much for your books, I love to read about the Amish way of life. I have started a book club with 8 members, the only books we read are about Amish.

    Bless you and your family

  2. You have the best book. My 88 year old mother any myself as well as my granddaughters all read them. Keep up the good work. I appreciate how you compliment the Amish. They appear to be a loving bunch with your books portrayals. I love that. We should all try to be more complimentary without being phony.

  3. I have been reading your books for about 5 years and enjoy learning about the
Amish culture and their beliefs. Sometimes the words ”simple life” is used in regards to
the Amish people. There is nothing ”simple” about their life except maybe by leaving out
all the distraction that is evident in other’s way of life. Keeping busy with serving family &
others seems to be the ”key”to staying focused on what is truly important in living for Christ.
Thank you for bringing wholesome Christian reading material for all to enjoy.
    Blessing in Christ our Lord.
